CCTC Spiritual Success Factors

Then, out from the armies of the Philistines came a champion named Goliath who stood over 9 feet tall…”

1 Samuel 17:4

#1: Passion

“Whatever your life’s work is, do it well. A man should do his job so well that the living, the dead, and the unborn could do it no better” – Martin Luther King

#2: Excellence

“Let your heart soar as high as it will. Refuse to be average!” Remember that excellence is not a project, job, or occasional action; excellence is a way of life. It includes going beyond the normal call of duty, stretching our perceived limits, and holding ourselves responsible for doing our best.

#3: Vision

The ability to anticipate possible future events and developments. You see it, feel it and you can do it!

#4: Value

The worth, importance, or usefulness of something to somebody. You value what you do and it will value You!

#5 Confidence

Starts with belief and is generally described as a state of being certain, either that a hypothesis or prediction is correct, or that a chosen course of action is the best or most effective given the circumstances.

R-E-S-P-E-C-T!

We believe that sports, as part of God’s world, is very important. He created us as physical beings that are able to move, recreate and compete.  Sports can teach us many lessons. It can teach us respect, determination, conviction but it can also teach us how to cheat, disrespect others and authority as well as a host of other negative characteristics.  In an effort to be proactive at CCTC we choose to be deliberate with our approach to teaching not only the sport but also instilling positive, life-long convictions by encouraging our athletes and parents to incorporate positive characteristics in all aspects of their lives. The following is our core value and its practical application that our athletes will learn as expected behaviors within the CCTC Track & Field Club.

The “Respect the Game” initiative speaks to the heart of sportsmanship.  There are no fancy strategies or lofty exhortations.  There are no official pronouncements or haughty platitudes.  The message is simple and direct. Let all of our actions be guided by respect. To achieve that goal, everyone is targeted in a way that relates to their individual circumstances yet collectively achieves this common goal.
